30,911 people reached my checkout. 6.06% bought.

My real checkout conversion rate across every product: 30,911 checkout views, 1,872 orders, 6.06%. How it differs from funnel conversion, and how to work out yours.

Every seller wants to know whether their checkout converts well. Most of the numbers you'll find online come with no source. So here are mine, from the ThriveCart account I sold through before I built Swipefast.

The number

Across every product I've sold there, 30,911 people reached a checkout page and 1,872 of them ordered. That's a checkout conversion rate of 6.06%. The average order was $225.94.

All my products, all time
Checkout views30,911
Orders1,872
Checkout conversion6.06%
Average order$225.94
Customers1,521
Gross revenue$423,237

Gross revenue includes subscription renewals, so it's more than the orders alone.

Checkout conversion isn't funnel conversion

These two get mixed up all the time, and the gap between them is big. Checkout conversion counts only the people who reached the payment page. Funnel conversion counts everyone who landed anywhere in the funnel, including people who read the sales page and left.

My Gameplan Tool funnel shows the difference. Last year 18,492 people came through it and 309 became customers: a funnel conversion of 1.67%. Those 309 customers placed 421 orders between them, about 1.36 each, because many added the order bump or took an upsell. That funnel made $12,433.

So if someone tells you their checkout converts at 2% and yours does 6%, check you're both counting the same thing.

Working out yours

  • Checkout conversion: orders divided by people who reached the checkout page.
  • Funnel conversion: customers divided by everyone who arrived in the funnel.
  • Orders per customer: total orders divided by customers. Above 1 means your bumps and upsells are doing their job.
  • Compare one product with itself over time before comparing it with anyone else's.

Where Swipefast shows it

Each checkout in Swipefast shows its views, orders and conversion next to its revenue, and where the buyers came from. With Claude or ChatGPT connected, ask “Which of my checkouts converts best this month?” and you get the answer without opening a report.
