How to refund an order
Refund a buyer in full from the Sales page in Swipefast, including any separately charged upsell, and see what else changes when you do it.
Refund an order
- 1. In the sidebar, open Sales.
- 2. Find the order. Search by email, name or order ID, or filter by date.
- 3. Click Refund on the right of the order.
- 4. Confirm the refund. The order's status changes to Refunded.
The Refund button only shows on orders marked Paid. An order marked On hold is waiting for the buyer to answer the upsell. It completes as soon as they do, and you can refund it then.
What a refund does
- The full amount goes back to the buyer through your payment provider.
- If the buyer also took your upsell, Swipefast refunds that separate charge too.
- If the order started a subscription, the subscription stops.
- Any affiliate commission on the order that hasn't been paid yet is cancelled.
- Connected tools hear about it, and automation rules set to An order is refunded run.
Card refunds go back through Stripe, and banks can take several days to show them. Stripe normally keeps its processing fee on a refunded payment.
Access after a refund
Swipefast can't take back an access link it already sent. If the product lives in a course platform or community, remove the buyer there too.
Questions people ask before choosing
Can I give a partial refund?
The Refund button in Swipefast refunds the whole order.
Does refunding the order also refund the upsell?
Yes. If the buyer took the upsell, it was a separate charge, and Swipefast refunds it along with the main order.
Why is there no Refund button on an order?
Refund only shows on Paid orders. Orders that are already Refunded, or On hold while the buyer decides on the upsell, don't show it.
