LinkedIn post checker: is it slop, and will it sell?

Paste a LinkedIn, X, Threads or Substack post into Post check and you get two scores: how much of it reads like slop, and how likely it is to sell. Plain rules, no AI, and the same post always gets the same score.

In short
  • Slop score, 0 to 100: how much of the post reads like filler. Every flag quotes the words that set it off.
  • Sell score, 0 to 100: a hook, the offer, a reason to click, a link, a real result and the right length.
  • It's in the Swipefast dashboard, with a 7-day trial. Below: what it checks, and two posts it scored.

What the slop score looks at

  • "It's not X, it's Y" reframes, and every soft version of them. The biggest tell, so it weighs the most.
  • Em dashes, and hyphens standing in for them.
  • One short line after another, or every line the same length.
  • Engagement bait: "Agree?", "Thoughts?", "Comment YES", "Let that sink in".
  • Stock phrases and buzzwords: "Here's the thing", "game-changer", "unlock", "delve".
  • Emoji bullets, bold-label lists and hashtag stacks.
  • Lists of three big words, stacked hedges, and closers that sum up a short post.

It counts tells per 100 words: one is harmless, a pile gives it away. Real numbers, names, dates and things that happened to you bring the score down.

What the sell score looks at

  • A hook where people see it: LinkedIn's first 2 lines, the first line on X and Threads, the title on Substack.
  • It says what you're selling, in plain words.
  • A reason to click now: a deadline, limited seats, a launch price or a bonus.
  • A link in the post, or a plain way to get it ("DM me"). "Link in the comments" doesn't count. On an X thread, the link goes in the last post.
  • A real result with a number. Effort isn't a result.
  • The right length: 280 characters on X, 500 on Threads, about a minute's read on LinkedIn.
  • Pick the checkout it's for and it checks the post names it, and that any price it states is the real one.

Two posts, scored by the real rules

Both are made-up LinkedIn posts. The scores come from the same code as the dashboard, so this page shows exactly what it does.

A post full of habits

Most people think launching a course is about the content. It's not. It's about the system. Let that sink in. I spent 6 months building a game-changer for creators — a framework to unlock your first launch. Here's the thing: ✅ Clarity ✅ Consistency ✅ Confidence Agree? 👇 #creators #launch #coaching #growth #mindset

  • Short enough to read on a phone

A post that sells

Last March I ran my first paid workshop. 9 people came, and 4 of them booked coaching after. So I turned it into the Launch Sprint: 6 weeks, 8 coaches, one launch each. It's $297 until Friday, then $397. DM me "launch" and I'll send you the link. If you've got an offer but no launch date, this is for you.

Questions

Is this an AI detector?

No. It checks writing habits that make a post read like filler, whoever wrote it: people write "it's not X, it's Y" too. Every flag shows the exact words and what to change.

Does it use AI or keep my post?

No. In the dashboard the rules run in your browser: there's no AI call, and a post you paste isn't sent to Swipefast or saved. Paste a link to an X, LinkedIn or Substack post instead and Swipefast reads that public post for you, without keeping it. If you connect your own AI, it can run the same check with the check_post tool.

Which posts can it check?

LinkedIn posts, X posts and threads, Threads posts and Substack posts. Each has its own rules for the hook and the length: the first 2 lines on LinkedIn, 280 characters on X, 500 on Threads, the title and opening on Substack.

Does it work in Spanish, French or German?

Partly. The phrase rules read English for now. Dashes, line rhythm, bullets, hashtags, links, numbers and length work in any language.

Is the post checker free?

No. Post check is part of Swipefast, from $29 a month after a 7-day trial. This page shows what it looks at and two example posts scored by the same rules, so you can see it before you start.
